Edo holds 1st Book and Art Festival, April 24-30

EDO State government has unveiled plans to stage it’s first International Book and Art Festival, from April 24 through 30th.

The Festival is set in the context of the state’s Education Week, EduWeek, as promoted by the Ministry of Education.

In a call for Spoken Word poets to put in entry, the ministry said the EduWeek is scheduled to hold at the Sir Uwaifo Creative Hub, Airport Road, Benin City, Nigeria!

“The Poetry slam is one of a series of events at the 2023 1st Edo International Book and Art Festival (EdIBAF 2023). EdIBAF 2023 is an integral part of the Edo State Education Week (EduWeek), a brainchild of the state’s Ministry of Education.”

The call asked the poets, who must be indigenes of the “regal and ancient city, who think they have what it takes to emerge champions in a slam, it’s time to shoot yourself to fame!.

“Mark the date (April 26), turn up and send the audience to a sublime realm with your performance. Winner takes all!
