SADIO Mane has been issued with a fine of over £250,000 by Bayern Munich for his action in a fight with teammate Leroy Sane.
The Senegal forward, 31, punched the 27-year-old Germany international in the face last week in the aftermath of Bayern Munich’s 3-0 UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg defeat at Manchester City.
The two forwards argued on the pitch during the match at the Etihad Stadium and exchanged blows as they entered the tunnel.
One of Mane’s punches apparently landed and broke Sane’s lip, leading to an internal investigation.
It was announced last week that Mane would be fined and suspended for Saturday’s Bundesliga fixture against Hoffeinheim but the amount was kept under wraps.
It has now emerged that the former Liverpool forward, who joined the perennial German champions last August, has been ordered to pay a £250,000 fine, which is believed to be the biggest in Bayern Munich history.
Mane is back in the squad after serving the one-match suspension and he will hope to feature tomorrow night in the second leg against City at the Allianz Arena.
Bayern Munich are attempting the near impossible as they seek to overturn the 3-0 deficit against a Manchester City side handled by their former manager Pep Guardiola.
City have won their last 10 matches in a row in all competitions and are confident of reaching their third Champions League semi-finals in a row.
