‘Fake news’: Osimhen’s agents debunk Bayern Munich agreement reports

VICTOR Osimhen has not reached an agreement to join any club at the end of this season, his team has declared.

There have been some reports that the Napoli striker has agreed personal terms with Bayern Munich as a prelude to switching to the German champions in the summer.

However, the Nigeria international’s representatives have referred to the reports as “fake news” and insisted that he is happy at Napoli.

“Fake news. It’s too early to discuss about a transfer,” one of Osimhen’s agents told Mundo Deportivo in a report published today.

Osimhen has been in the form of his life this season, scoring 21 Serie A goals to inspire Napoli towards their first Scudetto in 33 years.

The 24-year-old Super Eagles striker has caught the eye of several big clubs across Europe, including Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea.

Osimhen has not hidden his preference for the Premier League if he decides to leave Napoli, saying recently that he will love to play in England ‘one day’.

He joined Napoli from Lille in an €80 million deal in September 2020 and the Italian club’s owner Aurelio De Laurentiis has insisted that his star player is not for sale.

There are however reports that a bid of around €120m could tempt De Laurentiis to let go of Osimhen, whose current contract is due to expire in June 2025.
