Victor Osimhen not worth €150m — Bayern Munich’s Oliver Kahn

BAYERN Munich chief Oliver Kahn has suggested that the reported price tag of €150 million placed on Victor Osimhen is too high for the Napoli striker.

Osimhen, 24, has emerged as one of the most sought-after players in Europe this season following his prolific form for Napoli.

The Nigeria international has scored 23 Serie A goals this term to lead Napoli to their first Scudetto in 33 years, and there’s a queue of Europe’s big clubs after his services.

Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis has often insisted that the Super Eagles striker is not for sale, but it is believed that a €150m bid would change his mind.

Bayern Munich are one of the clubs persistently linked with Osimhen, along with Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain.

When asked about the €150m price tag in an interview with SportBILD, Bayern Chief Executive Officer Kahn said spending such an amount on Osimhen would be a ‘big risk’.

“When it’s about such a fee, we have to ask the question: does the player give you a guarantee for this money?” the Germany and Bayern goalkeeping legend said.

“That would definitely be a big risk.”

Osimhen joined Napoli in an €80m deal in September 2020 and has since become the top-scoring African in the Italian top flight with 47 goals, surpassing Liberian legend George Weah.
