TWO All Progressives Congress (APC) members from Imo State were killed in a road accident in Agbor, Delta State.
According to information gathered, the APC members were on their way to Abuja for the opening of the 10th National Assembly, tomorrow, June 13.
The APC Publicity Secretary in Imo State, Cajetan Duke, confirmed this in a phone conversation today.
He added that, in addition to the two dead, about six other persons were badly injured and transferred to a local hospital for treatment.
According to Duke, some 18 APC supporters boarded a bus from Owerri to Abuja to express solidarity with the party’s National Assembly members-elect who will be inaugurated tomorrow.
However, their vehicle was involved in a head-on accident with another vehicle at Agbor, Delta State, killing two people on the bus.
The APC’s spokesman termed the occurrence as regrettable and devastating, and expressed condolences to the deceased’s families and loved ones. He also requested that God offer the deceased eternal rest.
