THE governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, met with his counterpart in Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to discuss the recent demolition of some commercial premises in Lagos.
The Lagos State government had demolished some “physically distressed buildings” in the Alaba International Market.
The state government had explained that the “lives of businessmen and women within the market would be put at risk” in the event of imminent collapse.
Uzodimma revealed in a Facebook post yesterday that he led a delegation of the Igbo business community in Lagos to meet with Sanwo-Olu accompanied by Benjamin Kalu, the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives.
“The meeting was quite productive as the governor assured that no policy or programme will ever be designed against the Igbos or any other tribe. I am delighted as he swiftly constituted a Technical Committee to resolve issues raised by our people,” he wrote on Facebook.
“On this note, I commended His Excellency, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for the audience and avowed commitment to guaranteeing continued safety for all Igbos and other ethnic nationalities in the state.
“We have sustained peaceful coexistence in our region, South-east, with other ethnic nationals, and our cohabitation across the nation should be reciprocated with peaceful coexistence; I am glad that the Governor reassured.”
Uzodinma urged Igbo residents to go about their lawful businesses, “for Nigeria belongs to all of us, and together, we shall continue to build it.”
Sanwo-Olu’s noted that his administration would always uphold justice and equity.
There has been controversies over the removal of 17 stores from the market in the state’s Ojo local government area as there are many Igbo traders in the market.
Since the news of the demolition spread, there have been rumors that the governor carried out the operation as retaliation against the Igbos for reportedly supporting a rival candidate in the state’s 18 March governorship election.
As evidence that he was not carrying out a political vendetta against the Igbos in the market, the governor was asked to reveal demolition information by Oby Ezekwesili, a former minister of education.
The presidential candidate for the Labour Party, Peter Obi, also spoke on the subject.
He urged the state government to “marry the need to enforce compliance with extant regulatory regimes, with consideration for human feelings and necessary compassion.”
THE RECORD NEEDS TO BE KEPT STRAIGHT. THE DIVIDE BETWEEN THE HOST AND GUESTS MUST BE CLEARLY DEFINED AND MAINTAINED AS NATURALLY DESIGNED.
No guest has the audacity with absurd affront to insult the largess and or HOSPITALITY of his host. The imperative of the priority of the host must be RESPECTED at all times.
YOU DO NOT SING SONGS OF “NO MAN’s LAND” TO THE HEARINGS OF YOUR BENEFACTOR.
It is insulting for the COVETUOUS land grabbers of the Eastern Nigeria to continue to lay claim to what does not belong to them – Lagos.
THE bIafraudulent ELEMENTS NEED TO BE TOLD IN CLEAR UNEQUIVOCAL TERMS THAT LAGOS IS YORUBA LAND. NOT ALLOWING THEIR CORRUPT MENTALITY GETS THE WORST OF THEM.
Their acolytes in the media space and the corrupt uninformed irritant social media community need to have a good grasp of HISTORY, also.

IF THE Igbos WANTS A STAKE IN LAGOS – LIMITED – AND AT THE MERCY OF THE YORUBA LANDOWNERS OF LAGOS.
The GRABBER mentality of the easterners should be kept at bay. Their uncultured grabber sense of must have everything regardless of the history ownership and rights must seize and be CONTAINED.
THE INCONTINENT DISREPECTFUL OF HOSTS NATURE OF THE biafrauds CHECKMATED BY ALL MEANS POSSIBLE.
This is the riot act the Lagos state governor – like the speaker of the state’s house – should have read out to the Igbo leaders who came calling on a fence mending mission to parley with governor Babatunde Sanwo-Olu, in Lagos.
THE IGBO’s IN LAGOS AND ANYWHERE ON YORUBA LAND MUST MAINTAIN AND OR KEPT IN THE LANE ASSIGNED THEM AS VISTORS AND GUESTS.
