Dessers to have Rangers medical, set to seal €5m move from Cremonese

CYRIEL Dessers will undergo his medical tests today and tomorrow in order to complete his switch from Italy’s Cremonese to Scotland’s Rangers.

The Super Eagles striker is set to seal a move to the Scottish Premiership giants after they reached an agreement with Cremonese to pay a transfer fee of €5m for the 28-year-old.

Today’s edition of Belgian outlet Het Belang van Limburg reported that Dessers has also already found an agreement with Rangers for a four-year deal.

HBVL added that the Belgium-born Nigeria international will undergo his medical with Rangers today and tomorrow, after which his transfer will be completed and made official.

Rangers manager Michael Beale has been on the lookout for a new striker this current transfer window to replace the prolific Alfredo Morelos, who left as a free agent.

The Colombian star will now be replaced by Dessers, who produced 10 goals and three assists from 32 games last season for Genk and Cremonese.

Dessers joined Cremonese in Serie A last year from Genk in a €6.5m deal but could not save the side from relegation back to the Italian second tier.
