KANO: Gov Yusuf gifts pilgrims N65m

THE governor of Kano state, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has given the state’s 6,179 pilgrims, a present for Sallah in the amount of 65 million naira.

He said that the gift was a part of the state’s effort to give pilgrims a comfortable stay and support while they are away on their journey.

According to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Kano is the state with the second-highest number of pilgrims (6,179), which has given nearly 95,000 slots for the 2023 Hajj.

Speaking to press following a meeting with the 44 local government center executives in Makkah, Alhaji Lamin Rabiu Danbappa, the executive secretary of the Kano Pilgrims Welfare Board, stated that the governor felt it vital to supplement the spiritual activities of the pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
