THE Benue State Police Command today killed eight suspected bandits after a militia gang stormed Akpuna community in the state’s Ukum Local Government Area (LGA).
According to the reports a militia gang invaded Akpuna village, Ukum LGA at about 12pm today while shooting sporadically.
Upon receiving this information, police teams hurried to the area alongside other security agencies and were involved in a gun battle with the robbers, who were eventually defeated.
Reports further revealed that, eight corpses were recovered at the scene, while many other injured persons were taken to hospitals for treatment.
