OYO: Check yourself, Olubadan council tells Ladoja

THE Olubadan Council has advised former Oyo State Governor, Rashidi Ladoja to check himself.

This comes amid allegations by the former governor that the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Sen. Lekan Balogun, was plotting to prevent him from becoming Olubadan.

In a statement yesterday, the spokesman of the Olubadan, Oladele Ogunsola, described the allegation as unfounded and erroneous.

He said an emergency meeting of the Olubadan Advisory Council presided over by Oba Lekan Balogun, all the newly crowned Royal Majesties except two – Otun Balogun, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola and Ashipa Olubadan, Oba Biodun Kola-Daisi – were in attendance.

During the meeting, Ogunsola said Ladoja was chided for making the claim described as futuristic and lies in the belly of time.

“Assuming God decrees him to become Olubadan as he hopes and desires, where will the present Olubadan being alleged to be plotting against him be?” the statement read.

“Rather than looking for a scapegoat, he should check himself as there’s no way just one person can stand against 10 others. We shall meet in court as he has already initiated.”
