Why I can’t marry a colleague – Actress Chioma Okafor 

ACTRESS Chioma Okafor says she is not open to having a relationship or marrying any of her colleagues.

In recent interview, the Anambra State born Business Administration graduate said marrying within Nollywood is not for her kind.

“I can’t marry an actor. Let’s say it’s because of see finish, over familiarity and other factors, but I can marry a politician. Who knows, I could become one too. But I can’t be a second wife to anyone already married. I can’t do that. It’s not in my dictionary. My love is not for sharing.”

“Although, I hear a lot of men say they can’t settle down with a filmmaker, it does not worry me at all. Because who will be for you, will be for you regardless. The journey is a forever thing,” she said. 

The Domitila actress who has been very courageous about her craft further hinted that her parents never gave their full consent when she first ventured into movies.

“They were not excited at first. When I applied for Theatre Art in my jamb form, my mother told me that I will pay my school fees by myself. I just had put Business Administration which was my second choice. They had to later embrace my choice of career when they that it was movies or nothing. Even all her friends in church were hailing her, saying ‘greet you superstar daughter she is doing well’. At that point she had to calm down. Now, I don’t even accept any role. The story makes sense. Speaks to the audience and it have positive impact,” she added.
