Olamide releases highly anticipated 10th album Unruly

HAVING enjoyed a storied career that has seen him release multiple award-winning album-of-the-year projects and shape the career of several stars, iconic indigenous rap artiste and YBNL Record head honcho, Olamide Gbenga Adedeji popularly known as Olamide Badoo, has released his highly anticipated 10th album and 11th solo project titled Unruly.

The album released on Wednesday, August 9, features 15 tracks with guest appearances from CKay, BNXN, Fireboy DML, Rema, and Asake. It was produced by Eskeez, the award-winning producer Magicsticks who’s famous for his partnership with Asake, and the multi-talented P.Prime.

Known for consistently producing high-caliber music, his commanding rap style and hitmaking prowess, Olamide is at a point in his career where he no longer feels the mainstream pressure and this allows him to make music as he pleases. 

His ability to evolve and experiment with different genres while maintaining his signature sound has earned him a dedicated fan base that is excited to see what he has in store for them next. ‘Unruly’ is a testament to his timelessness.

The album packs a smooth experience as it takes listeners on a trip across Olamide’s illustrious career as he combines different genres to offer a resounding body of work.

 Ahead of the album release, the Shakiti Bobo and Science Student hitmaker released Trumpet featuring CKay and the Amapiano fused chart-topping New Religion, featuring Asake, which prepared listeners for what to expect on the project.

 Also, honouring a fan’s request on Twitter, he on a Friday, July 28 released a tracklist of the album, and made it clear that the project, as the title Unrulysuggests, is strictly +18 rated content.   

Meanwhile, in a tweet via his Twitter handle, Olamide hinted that Unruly might be his last album in an illustrious career that has spanned over a decade that saw him delivered 12 albums with three winning consecutively ‘Album of the Year’ prizes at the Headies Awards. However, he promised that he will continue to drop singles.
