JAMB registrar defends decision to employ 300 without advertisement

THE Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB), Professor Is-haq Oloyede, has defended the commission’s decision to hire 300 people without advertising the positions.

Professor Oloyede, who spoke before the House of Representatives on Monday, stated that the decision was made to fill gaps left due to retirement.

The House of Representatives ad-hoc committee is looking into employment racketeering by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, as well as misuse of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS).

Meanwhile, the committee discovered that 14 people at the Federal Character Commission (FCC) were paid through IPPIS without being assigned to any federal government agency.
