OGUN: Father of three butcher’s younger brother’s kids, blames devil

A 37-year-old father of three, Taye Agbaje, has been arrested for the suspected murder of his younger brother’s two children, Promise, aged nine, and Testimony, aged seven, in the Kemta neighborhood of Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The state police spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Omolola Odutola, confirmed the horrific act, calling it “incomprehensible.”

In a disturbing video, the accused freely confessed to brutally attacking the two kids and discarding their bodies in a secluded place.

During the captured interrogation on video, Agbaje denied any intention of exploiting the minors for ritualistic purposes. He did not, however, explain the missing private parts of the children, which weren’t found at the crime site.

According to sources, Agbaje abducted the two young boys on his motorcycle on August 6, when their parents were away. The parents were worried when they discovered their children were missing. A concerned neighbor however stepped forward stating to have seen the kids with Agbaje earlier.

A local resident, who wished to remain anonymous, stated, “Taye initially denied any knowledge of the children’s whereabouts. But under pressure, he admitted to only taking them to the market.”

When he was escorted to the Kemta police station, the enormity of his crimes became clear. Agbaje confessed to the heinous crime and led police to the location where he had abandoned the young victims.

“The entire community is in shock. Taye’s only explanation for such a heinous act was some unfounded claims of spiritual conflict involving the children’s mother,” the resident shared.

Odutola further mentioned, “The suspect exhibited no signs of remorse, continuously blaming his actions on satanic influences.”

The investigation continues as the community grapples with this horrifying event.
