FROM Wednesday August 23 through Saturday, August 26, the premiere training institution for studies in theatre and related courses in Nigeria and West Africa, the Department of Theatre Arts, University of Ibadan, will celebrate its Diamond jubilee with a variety of activities.
Past students of the famous school which has produced majority of the top theatre practitioners in the country and the continent, have come together to give a befitting celebration to their alma mater, which they termed the “Flagship of Theatre Scholarship and Practice” in Africa.
Led by Duro Oni, renowned professor of theatre arts, theatre technician, and former Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, the alumni group has announced the anniversary programme of events — all of which would hold at the Wole Soyinka Theatre, Dept of Theatre Arts University of Ibadan, as follows:
