LIVERPOOL manager Jurgen Klopp has declared that Mohamed Salah will not make a switch to Saudi Arabia to join Al-Ittihad.
The Egypt forward has been heavily linked with a move to the oil-rich kingdom, with multiple reports yesterday claiming he was considering a big money offer from the Saudi Arabia Pro League champions.
However, despite claims of a €200m-a-year offer being on the table for Salah, Klopp insisted today that his prized asset was going nowhere.
“There is nothing to talk about, he is a Liverpool player,” said Klopp said during his pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash against Newcastle United.
“He is essential and will be. There is nothing there. My life philosophy [is] I think about a problem when I have it.”
“We don’t have an offer — Mo Salah is a Liverpool player and for all the things we do is essential. If there would be something, the answer would be no.
“Mo is 100% committed to Liverpool. Nothing to talk about.”
Liverpool are not willing to sell their most important player, who only signed a new three-year deal last year, especially with the transfer window closing on September 1, leaving little time to secure a replacement.
“Mohamed remains committed to Liverpool,” Salah’s agent Ramy Abbas Issa had posted on social media less than three weeks ago.
“If we considered leaving Liverpool this year, we wouldn’t have renewed the contract last summer.”
