THE Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, Kawu Yakassai, has been kidnapped by gunmen.
He was abducted at 9 p.m. yesterday from his village in the Soba Local Government Area.
As of press time, the kidnappers had not made contact with the victim’s relatives or the Kaduna State APC leadership.
Meanwhile, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has criticized the APC official’s kidnapping.
In a brief statement issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Mohammed Shehu, the governor instructed security services to go after the kidnappers to ensure the victim’s safe return.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to the safety of all people’ lives and property, noting that one of the initiatives taken to attain security in Kaduna was to engage 7,000 vigilantes to boost the efforts of conventional security services.
