CELEBRITIES have reacted to news that the Delta State Police Command arrested over 100 suspected homosexuals carrying out a wedding ceremony in a hotel.
In a post on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the state police said it would parade the suspects shortly.
“Delta State Command has arrested over a hundred gay suspects in a hotel carrying out a gay wedding ceremony. We will be going live shortly on Facebook to parade the said suspects.”
Recall that since signing the anti-gay law in 2014, people believed to be homosexuals have been arrested and paraded by security operatives.
Reacting to the latest development, Actress Georgina Onuoha commented on social media. She wrote: “Leave these people alone. They did not kill, steal or harm anyone.
They are not the cause of Nigeria’s demise and predicaments. Let them live their lives.
You that are busy committing fraud, sleeping around with married men and women, lying etc You are no better than these folks living their lives.
Until many of you work in the medical field and understand the mechanisms behind sexual orientation, you will continue to live by the preachings of have many con artist who call themselves pastors have poured into you as preachings. I laugh at the stupidity of some Nigerians who still believe that sin has categories and being “gay” is the worst of.. You are only deceiving yourself. In the eyes of God, sin is sin and many of you indulge in worst sins.”
Victoria Inyama added, “parade the poor ones whilst idolising the rich ones. Make it make sense.”
While Chinedu Ikedieze condemned the act, he wrote, “Nawao! Wetin ds economy dey cause.”
