ALEX Iwobi could be joining his Super Eagles teammate Calvin Bassey soon as Fulham are negotiating for the Everton star.
Sky Sports reported today that Fulham are keen on Iwobi and are already holding talks for the Nigeria international with the desire to sign him on before the transfer window closes on Friday.
The Cottagers are looking to strengthen their squad following the £46 million exit of star forward Aleksandar Mitrovic to Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal earlier this summer.
Iwobi played every single Premier League fixture for Everton last season but suffered an injury during their 4-0 defeat to Aston Villa two weekends back and thus missed out on the Toffees’ 1-0 loss to Wolves last weekend.
Although Iwobi is considered to be key to Sean Dyche’s plans at Everton, a decent bid would be enough for them to let the 27-year-old leave to join their Premier League rivals.
Everton have strengthened their forward line this summer with new signings Arnaut Danjuma and Jack Harrison, and they have options in midfield in Abdoulaye Doucoure, Amadou Onana and James Garner.
The Toffees, who narrowly escaped relegation last season, are currently bottom of the Premier League table with zero points after three matches while Fulham are 12th with four points.
Iwobi joined Everton from Arsenal in August 2019 for €30m and has registered nine goals and 16 assists from 140 appearances with the Toffees.
Along with Bassey who joined from Ajax, Fulham have brought in two other players this transfer window in Raul Jimenez and Adams Traore, both from Wolves.
