THE Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), has ordered the suspension of the Nigeria Air project.
Keyamo, however, said no final decision has been taken on the issues of airports’ concession and the national carrier.
“They are only suspended until all processes that are ALLEGEDLY non-transparent and leading to those decisions are reviewed and all complaints are assessed for the benefit of Nigerians and Mr President is fully briefed.”
Reacting to the alleged plans to demolish part of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), he added: “No demolition was ordered.
“We have only told Nigerians the private hangars that are preventing Nigerians from using the new terminal and that we will engage the owners on their eventual relocation.”
Keyamo, yesterday, took a tour of the international airports in Lagos, where he was accompanied by the Managing Director (MD) of the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Kabir Yusuf Mohammed.
