OGUN: Suspended LG chairman released from DSS custody

THE suspended Chairman of Ogun State’s Ijebu East Local Government Area, Wale Adedayo who was detained by the Department of State Services (DSS), has been released.

The suspended chairman was held on Friday after the DSS invited him.

Adedayo accused the state governor, Dapo Abiodun, of withholding statutory federal allocations owed to the state’s twenty local government areas, an allegation the state government refuted during a press conference in the state capital.

According to reports, the suspended chairman was interrogated for several hours at the DSS headquarters in Abeokuta before being arrested and subsequently released.

His release came as a result of a statement attributed to Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and human rights campaigner Femi Falana, who demanded his release from DSS custody.
