AFTER a long break, the coroner resumed inquest into the circumstances surrounding the death of Sylvester Oromoni, a 12-year-old Dowen College, Lekki student yesterday morning.
The coroner, Magistrate Mikail Kadiri, who is sitting at the Magistrates’ Court in Ogba, Lagos, has summoned the deceased’s mother, Rosemary Oromoni, to testify in court on Monday, September 11.
Her evidence is expected to focus on the cause of death and the statement she made to police, following which parties will file written addresses and the coroner will present his findings and conclusions.
Two students in the college who had previously testified offered their testimony again during the sessions.
The coroner said that this became necessary because their previous testimonies were not audible and clear and were not properly captured by the court.
The testimony was given behind closed doors to protect the identities of the minors. After the testimony, they were cross- examined by lawyers representing all the parties.
