Atiku, Obi absent as presidential election petitions court begins proceedings

THE Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Atiku Abubakar and the Labour Party’s (LP) Peter Obi are both absent today as the Presidential Election Petitions Court convened in Abuja .

The two presidential candidates from opposing parties were contesting Bola Tinubu’s announcement as the winner of the 2023 presidential election by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

However, when the proceedings at the Appeal Court began, they were noticeably absent. When the Tribunal’s Chairman, Justice Haruna Tsammani, requested the petitioners and respondents to introduce themselves, LP’s Julius Abure took the place of the former Anambra State governor.

Vice President Kashim Shettima, on the other hand, identified himself as the first responder alongside APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje.

Aside from them, other APC leaders, including governors, were present at the ruling. The LP and the PDP were also represented.
