AFRO-fusion musician, Daniel Benson, formerly known as Buju and now known as BNXN (pronounced as Benson), has come through with a new single titled Sweet Tea (Aduke), while simultaneously announcing his highly anticipated debut album, Sincerely, Benson.
In the new offering, which samples Wyclef Jean’s classic record Sweetest Girl featuring Akon and Lil Wayne, the Lagos-born artiste pours out his heart, expressing the longing for a special lady who was meant to accompany him on life’s journey, but fate had other plans.
The mid-tempo love record comes off the back of the release of his 2023 singles Gwagwalada and Pray which are all expected to be in his Sincerely, Benson set to drop on October 5. It showcases his vocals harmonizing seamlessly with a delicate flute melody and a distinctive drum pattern.
Commenting on the anticipated Sincerely, Benson, the entertainer passionately stated, “This is as sincere as it gets.”
Since his break and command of mainstream attention with the Zlatan-assisted single Testimony in 2019, BNXN has made a name for himself as one of the most distinct and sought-after voices in Afrobeats with his music which has earned him millions of listeners and several awards.
He has also shown his talent across his two Extended Plays, Sorry I’m Late and Bad Since ‘97. His collaborations with artistes like Wizkid, Ladipoe, and Pheelz have delivered hit records and established him as Afrobeats chorus master.
His meteoric rise since his break out has made him one of the leading names in the new wave of stars, both within Nigeria, Africa and the world, as he has consistently over the years, challenged traditional African music norms, forging an instantly recognizable signature sound.
