THE acting Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, has approved a “thorough” probe into the death of musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
Muyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer, made the announcement on X, formerly known as Twitter, today, alongside a photo of the IGP and Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa.
Adejobi captioned the photo, “IGP and CP Lagos deliberating on the death of Mohbad at the Police Airwing, Muritala Mohammed Airport, Ikeja Lagos on Saturday.”
He added that the IGP “immediately directed CP Lagos to deploy the command’s resources to carry out thorough investigation on the matter. The IGP promised the CP of adequate support on the case”.
The directive comes two days after police vowed to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the 27-year-old’s death on Tuesday evening.
The Afrobeats musician, well known for his hit “KPK (Ko Por Ke),” was contracted to Marlian Records until 2022, when he left to launch his own record label, Imolenization.
