Youths protest, demand justice for Mohbad

SOME youths in Panseke area of Abeokuta, Ogun state have stormed the streets to demand justice for the death of Mohbad.
The youths gathered in their numbers at the Skating Ground Arena, wearing blacks and carrying placards with inscriptions such as #JusticeForMohbad, #Who off Light? among others.
Similarly, some youth activists gathered at Effurun Roundabout, Delta State, on Monday to demand justice in the death of the artiste.
Youths in the now-viral video marched on Monday with placards chanting, “Say no to Marlian music, we need justice.”
The Lagos State Police Command, had announced that it has set up a special investigative team to probe the death of Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, is expected to submit an interim report within two weeks.
The team, consisting of 13 members, is “to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of the victim, identify witnesses, culprits if any and any person that will be helpful to the investigative process and deploy processes and other technological tools to aid the investigative course in line with the relevant provisions of the Nigeria Constitution and the State Laws,” a document signed by Lagos spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, reveals.
“Following the death of one IleriOluwaOladimeji AKA Mohbad, ‘M’ aged 27yrs which occurred in the month of September 12th 2023, and in the overriding public interest, the Command has set up a special investigative team to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of the victim, identify witnesses, culprits if any and any person that will be helpful to the investigative process and deploy processes and other technological tools to aid the investigative course in line with the relevant provisions of the Nigeria Constitution and the State Laws,” it reads in part.
The team is to carry out a discreet investigation which covers exhumation, Autopsy/toxicology/histology, scene visit, Hospital/Medical Report, Records of suspects/witnesses statements.
