Tuition hike: FG urges students, parents not to disrupt academic session

THE Federal Government is urging students, teachers, and parents not to engage in any activity that will disturb the academic session’s smooth flow As Nigerian institutions prepare to reopen,

Tanko Sununu, Minister of State for Education, made the request today during a courtesy call from the leadership of the Congress of University Academics in Abuja.

He explained that the show of restraint is in the best interests of all stakeholders and the university system’s stability.

The Minister, who agreed that strikes and non-use of facilities could hasten infrastructure depreciation, assured that President Bola Tinubu would do everything possible to avoid strikes.

According to him, the ministry is engaging in constructive communication and consultation with stakeholders about student and staff welfare, as well as infrastructure provision in higher institutions.
