***Festival Executive Director shares plans for cultural extravaganza
THE state government has assured the management and leadership of the Kaduna International Film Festival (KADIFF) of its unwavering support the year’s edition of the festival, scheduled to take place from August 27 to 31, with the theme: “Cinema and Cultural Exchange.”
Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe gave the assurance when the Executive Director of the Festival, Audu Kashim Israel, recently paid her a courtesy visit at the Sir. Kashim Ibrahim House, as part of the strategic marketing activities for the upcoming 7th edition of KADIFF.
During the visit, the Executive Director of the Festival, Audu Kashim Israel, unveiled and enthralled the deputy governor with festival’s management team ambitious plans for this year’s event. Impressed by the plans, the Dr Balarabe assured of the state government’s unwavering support for the executive director’s efforts in nurturing the youth and creative talents of Kaduna State and beyond.
She said, “Youths in Kaduna always look forward to the Kaduna International Film Festival, and so I will also say I look forward to attending the film festival this year, most especially to come celebrate the films and cultural exchange activities the festival has for the year. May this year’s edition be better than last year.”
Audu, who also double as the Vice-Chairman of the Nigerian Film Festivals Association, was accompanied by Israel Bawa from the KADIFF 2024 media team. Also in attendance at meeting is the Special Adviser to the state government on Programme Monitoring and Evaluation (Deputy Governor’s office), Mary A. Olarerin; Private Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Hafsatu Aminu Ashiru, and Peter Ibrahim, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communication.
The government’s endorsement will no doubt pave the way for a sensational and culturally enriching festival. KADIFF has earned a reputation as a premier platform for showcasing the North Central region’s diverse cultural heritage, and propelling the growth of the film industry.
The 2024 edition promises to raise the bar, cementing Kaduna’s status as a dynamic hub for cultural exchange and creative expression.
