THE highly anticipated Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) Season 9 premiered on Sunday, July 28, with a live launch show that introduced 24 housemates in 14 pairs. This season’s theme, “No Loose Guard,” promises to bring exciting twists and turns.
Host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu returned for the ninth season, dressed in an all-black suit with sheer sleeve capes. He welcomed viewers to the revamped Biggie mansion, located in the heart of Lagos.
Unlike previous seasons, the housemates were introduced in pairs, dubbed “Dynamic Duos.” The pairs include:
1. Chinwe and Zion (Zinwe) – a love-struck couple
2. Fairme and Michky (Radicals) – friends and gym buddies who claim to be virgins
3. DJ Flo and Rhuthee (Flourish) – a duo promising to bring trouble to the house
4. Chinne and Nne (Ndi Nne) – a niece and aunt pair
5. Sooj and Topher (Aces) – friends brought together by fashion
6. Shaun and Victoria (Shatoria) – a couple who met in Dubai
7. Wanni and Handi (Wanni X Handi) – identical twin sisters and professional DJs
8. Ben and Tjay (Beta) – friends who met through social media
9. Ocee and Ozee (Mbadiwe Twins) – identical twin sisters and lawyers
10. Damilola and Toyosi (Tami) – best friends promising crazy and calm vibes
11. Anita and Nelly (Nelita) – friends who met at a beauty pageant audition
12. Mayor Frosh and Toby Forge (Streeze) – friends bringing steeze and rizz to the house
13. Kassia and Kellyrae (DoubleKay) – a married couple playing as besties
14. Chizoba and Onyeka (Chekas) – sisters with an unpredictable strategy
