FCT: Woman arrested for allegedly killing husband

OFFICERS from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, linked to the Pegi Police Division, have detained a woman named Rahimat Salaum in connection with the suspected murder of her husband.

According to the police, the 23-year-old suspect was taken into custody following reliable intelligence.

In a statement issued by Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, it was revealed that the suspect was trying to escape with her paralyzed husband’s belongings in a mini truck when police operatives intervened and arrested her.

The statement further disclosed that during questioning, the suspect confessed to killing her husband after a dispute arose between them.

The police reported that the victim led officers to an incomplete building where she had disposed of the severely burned body.

Additionally, the statement mentioned that while the investigation is underway, the FCT Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth Igweh, assured that justice will prevail in this case.

He also urged residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
