Anuoluwapo Adedeji… The continuing rise of 10-year-old ‘FotoGirl’

Anu’s latest achievement is winning a whopping N1.1 million and a mirrorless camera worth N1.8 million at the annual Ali Baba’s January 1 Show, held at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos…. She took home the recognition prize as the’ youngest photographer with tenacity approach to the contest.’

SHE stood tall to receive acclaim from renowned celebrities and news makers who had witnessed her latest feat. It was January 1, 2025. She is only 10 years old, and still a school pupil but she has been riding the crest of national news since she was 5.

Anu’s latest achievement is winning a whopping N1.1 million and a mirrorless camera worth N1.8 million at the annual Ali Baba’s January 1 Show, held at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Though she did not take home the star prize, AnuOluwapo took home the recognition prize as the’ youngest photographer with tenacity approach to the contest.’

Impressed with her performance in the photographic contest, the host of the event, Alibaba Atunyota, gave her the sum of N100k as a 10-year old to mark the 10 years anniversary of the show.

She also got a financial support of N1m from S.A. to the President on Digital and Creative economy, Fegho John Umunubo and a gift of mirror less camera from the Official Photographer to the President of Nigeria , Nosa Asemota.

Anuoluwapo Adedeji, known as Anufotogirl, has been making waves in the photography world since the age of three. Her impressive portfolio boasts coverage of high-profile events and encounters with dignitaries like Nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka and the famous environmentalist, the Dessert Warrior, Dr Newton Jibunoh, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Ogunwusi Ojaja 1, among others. She has also received accolades and kept companies of celebrities such as  filmmaker, Funke Akindele, socialite-activist, Debola Williams, and the popular, Goge Africa couple, Issac and Nneka Moses.

But what’s truly remarkable about Anu’s story is her passion and dedication to her craft. She’s a shining example of what can be achieved with hard work and determination with support from parents. As the youngest photographer in Nigeria, Anu’s accomplishments are an inspiration to young girls and women everywhere.

Her awards and recognition are a testament to her talent and commitment. Anu’s been named Peace Ambassador Advocate for girls and women in Abuja by Peace Ambassadors, Advocacy Network, an affiliate of LAWPA & UN and Ambassador for Beulah Initiatives, among others.

As Anu continues to make her mark on the photography world, she’s proving that age is just a number and that with passion and perseverance, anything is possible
