THE Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has formed a committee to address the growing presence of Almajiri in the metropolis.
The FCT Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, revealed this while speaking to journalists after a closed-door security meeting chaired by the minister.
He explained that the initiative aims to keep security agencies informed about the activities of Almajiri, particularly regarding their welfare and education.
Although he declined to comment on potential security threats in the nation’s capital, Disu urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to security agencies.
The committee, which includes the Nigerian Police, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the Department of State Services (DSS), among others, has been tasked with submitting a report within two weeks.
Meanwhile, the FCT Commissioner of Police also announced the arrest of five suspects for various crimes.
