OPERATIVES of the Nigeria Police Force in Katsina State have repelled an attack by suspected bandits and recovered about 70 rustled livestock during security operations in Jibia and Musawa Local Government Areas.
The development was shared today by security analyst Bakatsine in a post on X, noting that the operation was carried out under the directive of the Katsina State Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Umar Fage, as part of ongoing efforts to curb banditry in the region.
During the operation, police operatives reportedly engaged the suspects in a gun battle, forcing them to flee and abandon the stolen animals.
Security forces also recovered two AK-47 rifles, ammunition, and six spent shells from the scene, which are expected to assist ongoing investigations and help track the fleeing suspects.
Authorities say the operation forms part of sustained efforts to maintain pressure on criminal groups and improve security across Katsina State.
