ONLINE voting has commenced for the 2026 edition of the Nigerian Healthcare Excellence Awards (NHEA), Nigeria’s most prestigious healthcare recognition platform, marking the final phase of the annual awards after the completion of jury shortlisting.

The organisers announced that voting opened on Tuesday, May 20, 2026, and will run until June 19, 2026, allowing the public and industry stakeholders to vote for their preferred institutions and professionals across multiple categories.

This year’s nominees feature a strong list of leading players in Nigeria’s healthcare sector, including African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE), Duchess International Hospital, Evercare Hospital, Iwosan Lagoon Hospitals, Lily Hospitals, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH), University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH), Total Health Trust, AXA Mansard Health, Leadway Health, Cerba Lancet Nigeria, Marcelle Ruth Cancer Centre, Lakeshore Cancer Center, The Bridge Clinic, GE Healthcare, Emzor Pharmaceutical Industries, Fidson Healthcare Plc, Drugstoc, and several others.

Speaking on the development, Moses Braimah, Director of Marketing, Communication & Strategy for NHEA, said the 2026 edition stands out for its competitiveness and quality of entries.

“The quality of nominations received this year reflects the growing innovation, resilience, and transformation happening within Nigeria’s healthcare ecosystem,” Braimah said.

“NHEA 2026 is not just about recognising excellence; it is about celebrating institutions and individuals that are redefining healthcare delivery standards, expanding access, investing in quality systems, and contributing meaningfully to national health outcomes.”

He added that shortlisted nominees are currently undergoing independent verification and detailed assessment to validate their claims on service quality, infrastructure, innovation, and impact.

Vivian Alikali, Executive Secretary of NHEA, urged Nigerians to actively participate in the voting process.

“We encourage the general public to visit the NHEA website and vote for their preferred organisations and individuals across the various award categories,” Alikali said.

“Public participation remains a vital component of the awards as it helps spotlight healthcare providers making significant contributions to healthcare delivery in Nigeria.”

Voters are required to visit the official voting portal at https://nigeriahealthcareawards.com.ng/online-voting/, register, and authenticate their email before casting votes.

Winners will be unveiled at the grand awards ceremony scheduled for Friday, June 26, 2026, at Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The awards cover key sectors including Public and Private Healthcare Delivery, Health Insurance, Diagnostics and Laboratory Services, Oncology and IVF, Biomedical Technology, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing & Distribution, Healthcare Media Excellence, Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation, and Healthcare Innovation & Quality Improvement.

Widely regarded as “the Oscars of Nigerian Healthcare,” the NHEA is organised by Global Health Project and Resources (GHPR) in collaboration with Anadach USA.
