YOUNG Nigerian forward Zadok Yohanna has completed his switch to Brighton from AIK Stockholm.

Brighton confirmed the move today, with the 18-year-old winger signing a five-year contract and the English Premier League club paying the Swedish side £21.5m.

In the announcement of the deal, Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler described what Yohanna can offer but also made it clear he will need time settle in the English top flight.

Hurzeler said: “I’m looking forward to working with Zadok.

“Having seen his games and his attributes, he is a player that can impact games in the final third.

“He’s still young, and will need time to adapt to the club and Premier League, but he’s an exciting player to watch and he brings the kind of creativity we know our fans will enjoy

“He’s dynamic, has pace and likes to take players on. His attributes and ability will be a real addition to our attacking options.”

Newcastle were also keen to sign Yohanna while Chelsea were reportedly showing an interest.

Yohanna said: “I watch Premier League games a lot, so I know the teams that use young players, and Brighton is one of them.

“They are really good at developing young talents, and I think their style of play will fit me a lot.”

The Nigerian teenager joined AIK only last July for €750,000 from Ikon Allah FC in Nigeria, and has made just seven appearances for the Swedish club, scoring two goals.
