THE Nigeria Olympic Committee has condoled with the Guardian Newspapers on the death of their Photo Editor Femi Adebesin-Kuti.

He passed away aged 57 on Friday and was buried on the same day in his hometown Abeokuta, Ogun State according to Islamic rites.

The friendly, jovial Adebesin-Kuti, who was one of the top sports photojournalists in Nigeria, died at the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta after a brief illness.

“Kuti was a committed journalist, who used his expertise in photojournalism to promote sports and the activities of the Movement,” the NOC said in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer Tony Nezianya.

“During his lifetime, he covered many international notable Games including the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, England; the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia; the African Games in Abuja in 2003 as well as that of Algiers, Algeria in 2007.

“May the Almighty Allah accept his soul.”
