THE Federal Ministry of Education has announced the complete digitisation of academic credential authentication and evaluation, eliminating the need for in-person verification.

In a statement issued by its Director of Press and Public Relations, Folasade Boriowo, the ministry said the transition aligns with the Federal Government’s broader digital transformation drive aimed at improving efficiency and service delivery.

Under the new system, all applications for credential verification will now be processed exclusively online.

Applicants are required to register and upload their documents through the ministry’s official verification portal, while their academic institutions are to forward transcripts directly via designated official email channels.

The ministry explained that the reform is designed to enhance transparency, strengthen the integrity of academic records, and improve data management across the education sector.

Officials also noted that the shift to a fully automated platform is expected to simplify procedures, significantly reduce processing time, and boost the credibility of credential verification in Nigeria.

With this development, applicants will no longer need to visit ministry offices, marking a major step toward a more efficient and technology-driven public service system.
