LAGOS: Public coach, Ubong King, dies of Covid-19 complications at 48

A FAMOUS public speaker and business consultant, Ubong King, has died at 48.

King reportedly died of Covid-19 complications in Lagos on Saturday, not long after he contracted the lethal virus.

King’s wife, Unyime-Ivy King, was said to have shared a picture of the family to mark this year’s Christmas hours before her husband’s death.

“It’s that time of the year…I celebrate Jesus, I celebrate family, I celebrate good friends, and I celebrate the gift of life…Merry Christmas everyone, from our family to yours,” Mrs King had written on Instagram on Friday.

On Sunday, Unyime-Ivy posted a photo of a dimly-lit candle in a dark background on Facebook to mourn her husband.

Ubong King was born on August 22 1972 and was raised in Lagos. He studied Agriculture at the University of Calabar.

He was the founder of Protection Plus Security Limited and former chairman of the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS) international chapter 206, Lagos.

The deceased was also the president of the Ubong King Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, aimed at training young people towards leadership

He is survived by his wife and four children.
