Basketball: Total Division One league to tip off in Lagos on Saturday

THE Nigeria Basketball Federation has announced that the men’s Total Division One league will begin on Saturday at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium.

Twenty teams, 11 from the Savannah Conference and nine from the Atlantic Conference, will be participating teams in the Division One.

They will be competing for four available slots in the Total-sponsored mational finals.

Apa Flames (Benue), Kano Pyramids (Kano), Zamfara Shooters (Zamfara), Yobe Desert Warriors (Yobe), AHIP Giants (Kano) and Gombe Jewels (Gombe) are in the Savannah Conference, which also has Taraba Hurricanes (Taraba), Golden Touch, Safety Knights, Nile
University of Abuja and Ahmadu Bello University Kings from Zaria.

In the Atlantic conference, Nigerian Air Force Rockets will be up against OS Lions from Osun, Comets (Lagos), Police Bombers (Lagos), Brave Heart, Oilers of Lagos, Chuba Ikpeazu of Anambra, Enugu Coal City Basketball and Edo Beads from Benin City.

With most of the teams already in Lagos, the mandatory pre-match and technical meeting has been fixed for Saturday by 8am at the secretariat of the Nigeria Basketball Federation in Lagos.

National finals of the Total Division One will take place between 7 July and 12 July.
