EFCC auctions Diezani, others’ property

NIGERIANS have been invited to submit bids for some property that has been confiscated to the federal government by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The property was taken from politicians and businessmen in the states of Lagos, Rivers, Abuja, Anambra, Gombe, Ebonyi, Kaduna, Delta, Edo, Kwara, Cross River, Osun, and Oyo.

According to a reports gathered, Diezani Allison-Madueke, a former minister of petroleum, is said to have acquired some of the property in Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt with the help of the proceeds of financial crimes.

It was gathered that 23 luxury property in Banana Island Estate, Lagos, were confiscated from the former oil minister.

The anti-graft agency stated in a public notice yesterday that anyone interested in the aforementioned property must not have been charged by the commission.

It further noted that bidders were welcome to see the property and instructed them to download bid forms from the EFCC website at www.efcc.gov.ng.

Among the various items on the property are Flat 1, Heritage Court Estate, Rivers State; a three-bedroom apartment with a one-room boys’ quarters at Foreshore Estate off Onikoyi Road, Ikoyi, Lagos State.
