ENYIMBA recovered from last week’s defeat at Remo Stars to beat El-Kanemi Warriors 2-0 in Aba today in their Nigeria Premier Football League Group A clash.
Chukwuemeka Obioma struck both goals as the Aba Elephant rose to third in the Group A table, six points behind leaders Bendel Insurance, who dropped their first points with a home draw with Gombe United yesterday.
Also in Group A, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) defeated Nasarawa United 2-0 in Ibadan to move up to sixth in the 10-team group.
Samuel Ayanrinde scored both goals for the Oluyole Warriors on their home turf.
Akwa United rose to fourth place, level on points with Enyimba, after a 3-1 victory over second-placed Remo Stars in Uyo.

Plateau United edged past Kwara United 1-0 in Jos through Murtala Dagbo’s own goal.
In Group B, newcomers Doma United produced the shock of the weekend with a comeback 2-1 win over champions Rivers United.
Dennis Ndasi gave the champions the lead in the 25th minute, before Musa Usman struck in the 30th and 68th minutes to earn the hosts their third win of the season and move them up to fourth.
Rivers United are second, level on points with leaders Lobi Stars, who drew 0-0 at Niger Tornadoes.
