Elections: Obi wins Atiku, Tinubu in Cross River

THE presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has won in Cross River State.

Obi, defeated the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate Bola Tinubu, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Atiku Abubakar, and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso.

The final results, announced early this morning at the presidential election collation center in Cross River, showed that Obi polled 179,917 votes, beating Tinubu’s 130,520 votes, Atiku’s 95,425 votes, and Kwankwaso’s 1,644 votes.

This makes it Obi’s fourth state to have been won after Nasarawa, Enugu and Lagos.

There were a total of 1,691,642 registered voters in the presidential election, in Cross River.

However there were 416,968 valid votes cast, while 24,608 votes were rejected adding to a total of 441,576 votes cast.
