Kamaru vows to regain UFC belt from Edwards

KAMARU Usman is confident he will become Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight champion again on Saturday.

The Nigerian Nightmare faces Leon Edwards at UFC 286 in London on Saturday with the welterweight belt on the line.

Kamaru and Edwards are going to battle for the third time on Saturday.

The Nigerian won their first bout in 2015 but Englishman Edwards gained revenge in August last year, taking Kamaru’s welterweight title.

Kamaru has now promised to regain his belt from Edwards on Saturday.

“He has the belt, by definition he is the champ. Between him and I, we know. Saturday I will take it off him,” Usman boasted.

“Once we get in there I’m throwing everything from the kitchen and bathroom at him!”

United States-based Usman, the 35-year-old from Edo State, has won 20 of his 22 UFC fights, losing the other two. Ten of his victories have come by knockout.

Edwards, 31, has won 20 fights and lost three.
