Tyson Fury back in talks for big fight with Anthony Joshua

TYSON Fury has announced that he is back in negotiations with Anthony Joshua for a possible heavyweight boxing clash in September at Wembley Stadium.

The World Boxing Council heavyweight champion took to social media to make the announcement yesterday, months after initial talks for a blockbuster bout between two of the most popular fighters in this world collapsed.

Fury even admitted to sending the Nigerian-British Joshua a ‘draft contract’ earlier in the week.

Fury and Joshua had held talks over a ‘Battle of Britain’ bout last year but discussions broke down after the Fury grew impatient waiting for the former world champion to sign the contract.

Negotiations over the highly-anticipated bout had been ongoing for months before both parties declared the fight, which was scheduled to take place on December 3, 2022, was officially off.

Unbeaten Fury, 34, said he was not happy with Joshua for ‘wasting his time’ and stated he would never fight the 33-year-old in the future as a result.

However, Fury has changed his mind and used Instagram to confirm he is back in talks with the former WBA, WBO and IBF champion over a September bout.

He confirmed the news as he posted a picture of himself and Joshua, writing: “A few days ago I sent a draft contract to Anthony Joshua for a fight in September.

“It’s a fight that everyone wants to see including myself. Come on AJ let’s give the world what they want to see.

“This time I’m not gonna make a million vids and keep putting pressure on. The ball is now on your side.”
