JOSE Mourinho, his club Roma and Sevilla have all been charged by UEFA for their actions during and after the Europa League final between the two sides on Wednesday night in Budapest, Hungary.
Sevilla defeated Roma 4-1 on penalties after the ill-tempered final at the Puskas Arena ended 1-1 after extra-time.
Roma manager Mourinho has been charged by the European football governing body for using insulting or abusive language against an official after the match.
The 60-year-old Portuguese was booked by English referee Anthony Taylor in Budapest, and he was seen in a car park confronting the match official, cursing him out in English and Italian.
Mourinho, who was apparently aggrieved that his side were denied what he believed should have been a penalty for handball, criticised Taylor in his news conference and he was later captured on video in the car park under the stadium hurling insults at the referee.
Taylor and his family were then shouted at by angry Roma fans in Budapest Airport on their way back home.
During the game, Taylor issued yellow cards to 13 players, the most bookings in a Europa League game. Seven of them were to Roma players, which was a record for a final.
Both Roma and Sevilla face several charges over their fans’ and players’ conduct.
They have both been charged with throwing of objects, lighting of fireworks and improper conduct of their team.
Sevilla have an additional charge for invasion of the field of play, while Roma have also been charged with acts of damage and crowd disturbances.
