NAPOLI manager Luciano Spalletti has backed his striker Victor Osimhen to succeed wherever he goes if he decides to leave the Serie A champions.
Osimhen is the top scorer in the Italian top flight with 25 goals this season and inspired Napoli to their first Scudetto in 33 years.
The Nigeria international has attracted many admirers across Europe and has consistently been linked with moves to Manchester United, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, all of whom are in need of world-class strikers.
Although Osimhen has said that he would love to play in the English Premier League ‘one day’, Spalletti believes the 24-year-old will score plenty of goals in any league.
“Osimhen will do excellent things wherever he will go to play,” Spalletti told Sky Italia.
“Trust me, he’s fantastic player. He can score, press, help with hard work and he can also improve many skills. Victor will become a top, top player.”
Spalletti is himself on his way out of Napoli after two years in charge.
He confirmed during the week that he would leave at the end of the current campaign and take a one-year break from coaching.
Today’s Serie A home clash against Sampdoria will be the 64-year-old’s last match in charge of the champions.
