NIGER Coup: Don’t take military action against junta, JNI warns ECOWAS

THE Jama’atu Nasril Islam, yesterday warned Nigeria and the authorities of the Economic Community of West African States not to take military action against the junta in the Niger Republic.

The caution is contained in a statement issued in Kaduna by JNI Secretary General, Prof Khalid Aliyu.

Aliyu said that the JNI, representing the collective voice of the Muslim community, expressed its deep concern over the seizure of power through a coup from the democratically elected Niger Republic, President Mohamed Bozoum.

“We firmly note the relevance of upholding democratic principles and the rule of law to fostering the stability, development and steady progress within nations.

“Without a doubt, these are the cornerstones for good governance because democratic principles and the rule of law prevent arbitrary use of force and power and ensure consistency with international human rights, norms and standards,“ Aliyu said.

The JNI commended the efforts so far undertaken by the Nigerian government, particularly the initiation of a dialogue process, aimed at resolving the crisis in Niger Republic.

“While this attempt may not have yielded the desired results, it demonstrates Nigeria’s commitment to peaceful resolutions.

“We acknowledge that dialogue is an invaluable tool in preventing further bloodshed and instability within the Sahel Region, which has many political and security uncertainties.

“Nevertheless, we wish to raise a word of caution against pursuing military action as a means to restore democracy,” he said.

According to Aliyu, the interlaced landscape of the northern states of Nigeria and the Niger Republic necessitates a more cautious and thoughtful action and approach.

He explained that with several Nigerian states sharing borders with Niger Republic, military intervention could have unintended consequences that might impact the peace and stability of both nations.

Aliyu called upon all stakeholders to give concentrate on a diplomatic and political resolution to the crisis in Niger Republic.

“We believe strongly that dialogue, cooperation and negotiation are the most effective means to establish lasting peace and stability in the region,” he said.

He said it was equally essential that the international community, including ECOWAS, continue to engage the junta in peaceful diplomatic discussions aimed at resolving the problem.

He called on Nigerians to turn to God in prayers, seeking His merciful intervention and to guide the country’s leaders toward taking wise decisions and a peaceful resolution of the crisis in the Niger Republic.

“Let us pray together for the restoration of peace and order, the protection of human rights and the wellbeing of the people of Nigeria and Niger Republic.

“JNI reiterated its commitment to promoting unity, understanding, and cooperation among all Muslim communities.

“We stand united against any form of injustice, oppression, and violence and advocate for a peaceful and harmonious world.

SOME OF THE PEOPLE OF Niger REPUBLIC CELEBRATES MILITARY TAKE OVER.

And some Nigerians such as MURIC and JNI with its Secretary General Prof Khalid Alyu almost celebrating the putsch also.

I WONDER SOMETIMES HOW THE ACADEMICS AND THE ELITES IN OUR MIDST THINK. CLEALY WARPED.

THEY DO NOT KNOW THAT THEY ARE CELEBRATING ILLEGITIMACY AND CRIMINALITY OF THE JACK BOOTS THAT WILL FURTHER PLACE A GARLAND OF YOKE ON THEM.

The IGNORANCE of the black man is both legendary and rustic. The military that is charged with manning and securing the borders of their country takes over the rein of government and immediately and automatically assumes OPULENCE of what they usually accuse the replaced legitimate constitutional government of.

WHEN WOULD THE BLACK MAN GROW IN BOTH WISDOM AND OUTLOOK. THE MILITARY IN AFRICA IS THE MOST CORRUPT.

Should these ignoramuses know that they are signing unto and login into their own death warrants.

THE SENATE WAS REPORTED TO HAVE REJECTED Nigeria PARTICIPATION IN THE ECOWAS MILITARY INTERVENTION IN THE Niger MILTARY COUP.

THE NEED TO CLARIFY THE ISSUE HAS NOW BECOME MORE IMPERATIVE.

IT IS NOT Nigeria GOING TO WAR WITH Niger REPUBLIC, RATHER THE ECOWAS/CEDEAO.

Nigeria HAS NOT, NEITHER HAS SHE DECLARED OR INTENDED TO GO TO WAR WITH Niger.

The entire response to the situation in Niger republic is a complete INITIATIVE of ECOWAS.

PEOPLE AND ALL MISCHIEF MAKERS SHOULD GET THAT INTO THEIR SCULLS.

Nigeria CANNOT opt out of and or REFUSE to PARTICIPATE in the ECOWAS initiative and plans on the coup in the subregion, more so with Nigeria being the HEAD of the body.

IF NO MILITARY INTEVENTION IN MILITARY COUP ANYWHERE ON PLANET Africa AND THE SUBREGIONS IS NOT EFFECTED, WHAT ELSE WOULD DO WHERE THE ENEMIES OF DEMOCRACY AND CONSTITUTIONAL GOVERNMENT REMAINED ADAMANT AND RECALCITRANT OBSTINATE?
