WILFRED Ndidi could become the fourth Nigeria international at Nottingham Forest before the end of the transfer window.
The Leicester City midfielder is reportedly being courted by the Premier League side, where Taiwo Awoniyi, Ola Aina and Emmanuel Dennis currently play.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported last night that Forest were preparing a bid for the 26-year-old who is believed to be a top target for Steve Cooper’s side.
Indeed, Romano added that Ndidi and Forest have agreed personal terms, and the deal will be done once the clubs conclude negotiations, which are expected to start this week.
The European transfer window will close on Friday night, and Ndidi will be keen to return to the Premier League, from where Leicester City were relegated last season.
The Nigeria international was one of the most coveted defensive midfielders in Europe two to three years ago, but he has had persistent injury trouble in recent times and his stock has plummeted.
He has returned to full fitness and a move to the Premier League will once again remind the world of his talents.
Ndidi joined Leicester City in January 2017 from Genk for โฌ17.6m and has made 242 appearances for the Foxes, registering 12 goals and 12 assists.
The Super Eagles star has already made five appearances for Leicester City this season scoring one goal, and his current contract expires in June next year.
