INTER Milan are monitoring Maduka Okoye and considering making an offer for the Super Eagles of Nigeria goalkeeper, according to multiple reports in Italy.
The 24-year-old Nigeria international was in impressive form for Udinese in Serie A last season and the Italian champions have added him to a shortlist of goalkeepers they are looking to recruit.
Reports in Italy claimed today that Inter Milan are keen on a new goalkeeper to provide competition for 35-year-old Yann Sommer, and Okoye is one of the three major candidates.
The Serie A champions are reportedly already in talks with Brazil club Atletico Paranaense for Bento, but there seems to be little progress and they are about to shift their attention to other targets.
Along with Okoye, Inter Milan have also made inquiries about Genoa goalkeeper Josep Martinez, according to Italian newspapers today.
Italian and European football transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio even claimed that “Inter are very interested in Maduka Okoye, a goalkeeper who during the last season became Udinese’s number one starter, replacing Marco Silvestri starting from the home match against Bologna on 30 December 2023”.
Di Marzio added that Inter Milan are already working on beginning negotiations with Udinese for Okoye, with the Nigerian’s price set to be around €12 million plus bonuses.
During the just concluded season, Okoye made 21 appearances in Serie A for Udinese, conceding 25 goals and keeping five clean sheets as they avoided relegation.
