Mikel Obi ‘all good’ after undergoing surgery

 

FORMER Super Eagles of Nigeria star Mikel Obi has revealed that he underwent surgery recently.

The former Chelsea midfielder shared on Instagram today that he went under the knife at the Princess Grace Hospital in London, the United Kingdom.

Although he did not disclose the nature of the surgery, Mikel suggested that it went well.

The 37-year-old shared a picture he took before the operation, writing: “Pre-op, let’s go.”

After the surgery, the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner with the Super Eagles posted another picture with the caption “All good. #PostOp.”

Mikel is one of Nigeria’s most capped and decorated players ever, making 91 appearances for the Super Eagles.

Apart the the AFCON title in 2013, he also won bronze in the competition in 2006, 2010 and 2019, and won silver with the Flying Eagles at the 2005 FIFA U-20 World Cup, and bronze with the Olympic Eagles at the Rio 2016 Games.

With Chelsea, he won two English Premier League titles (2010 and 2015), four FA Cups (2007, 2009, 2010 and 2012), as well as the UEFA Champions League in 2012 and the Europa League in 2013.
